It's a decent park, but the countless amount of trouble I read about in the paper. Does make me question walking through.
Wellingborough Zoo park was opened in1943 in Croyland Gardens and the air was filled with the sound of Bears, Lions and Tigers.Entry was 7p.The Zoo exhibited monkeys, lions, panthers, penguins, a baby elephant and a giant tortoise. theBy the 1960's the Zoo came under pressure from the RSPCA about the animals living conditions. Also a man was mauled by a leopard and lostpart of his arm. The Zoo closed in 1970 and the hall and Abbey became the council offices. In 2011 a new play area was introduced with an element of natural play on a Zoo theme. Three wooden sculptures of a lion, tiger and bear are here for everyone to enjoy. Croyland Park and Croyland Gardens were both part of the vast estate of the monks of Crowland Abbey in Leicestershire
Great local area for walking and dogs can run free
