The new office looks incredible. It can get busy at times but so much better! Not to mention an easy place to grab a quick lunch from too
The Post Office and British Telecom used to be combined into a single state owned company called the G.P.O. but following the election of the Conservative government who introduced a policy of privatisation, all state assets were gradually sold off to both private institutions and the general public.The GPO was split into two individual companies, as I've mentioned ie British Telecom and the Post Office, and the Conservative government hired an Investment bank to deal with the privatisation of British Telecom.Following its sale, in order to increase value to shareholders, BT sold off Yellow Pages.Wellingborough's main Post Office used to be situated in Midland Road, now however it is in what used to be Wellingborough's Job Centre in Sheep Street.
Wellingborough needs flattening & rebuilding but as far as a post office in a backwards town goes this does the trick. Long queues & slow service from minimal staff. You're in a battle trying to hold your breathe as you are surrounded with the local creatures & their funky aroma's.
Very busy, with slow service. On the positive side they do offer a full range of Post Office services including Passport checking, Photo driving License processing. Staff are helpful and polite, but usually seem busy and stressed.
Customer service is awful the lady over the counter started shouting at me when all I asked was how much? then started an argument in front of my 2yr old even though I said its fine theres no need to shout ,then said I dont want to argue with you!! But shes the one who was shouting at me!? And you wonder why people would rather do these things online these days Shame I could use the online service just because I needed an up to date photo for my drivers license Also the opening times are wrong it doesnt open at 9 on a Tuesday its 9.30Poor poor poor!
